Romance (love story) is a particular genre which recounts a story of love between the main characters. It focuses on their personal relations, on their feelings, doubts, and deep inner emotions. Typically, the movie's plot is based on the social differences between lovers whose actions or feelings go beyond the conventional limits, so the main characters are often condemned by society. The venue of the movie may occur in any country and any epoch but most frequently the events are placed in the epoch of rise of bourgeois society. There are also many films that describe events occurring in our time. The audience of romance consists mainly of women. The action goes on in such a manner that the audience is able to share the feelings of the character, empathizing with him or her at all stages of the story.
